Do Not Purchase this book! Nutrition has been an important part of my adult life, I have read and continue to read to learnmore about new discoveries regarding nutrition. I ordered this book, it just arrived today and I anxiously opened itand immediately sat down and began reading it. On page 8 (scarcely into the book) there is a paragraph entitled "Aluminum"in bold letters. And I quote part of the paragraph, "Everyday sources of this toxic element are processed cheeses,BAKING SODA, antacid tablets, table salt and antiperspirants (E173) ..."So far as I know, BAKING SODA contains no Aluminum, and I read to you, from the box of the most famous brand""Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda"; Ingredient: Sodium Bicarbonate. No other ingredient is listed nor has EVER been listedon Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda.I believe that the author, probably, does not know the difference between Baking Soda and Baking Powder. Under theold brand name "Calumet Baking Powder" Aluminum IS listed as an ingredient. However, the Brand "Rumford Baking Powder" (a brand in which I have absolutely no financial or other connection) is labeled"Aluminium-Free Baking Powder, and a container of it is in my pantry as I write this.I have brushed my teeth with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda most of my adult life (and I am 82 years of age), and also use itas an antacid...a job which it remedies well, and safely. If this author and his editors, did not catch this most basic difference in two leading products, I doubt everything else thatis written in this book. I urge you not to rely on anything written within "The Complete Guide to Nutrients" by Dr. Michael Sharon. If I am mistaken, please publish a response to this immediately, stating the correct information and I shall retract thisreview.
